Mr. Droney is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Law and Government Relations practice groups. His practice focuses on a broad range of public financing redevelopment tools including tax increment financing (TIF) districts, Missouri Downtown and Rural Economic Stimulus (MODESA) districts, Community Improvement Districts (CIDs), Neighborhood Improvement Districts (NIDs), Transportation Development Districts (TDDs), Chapter 100 tax abatement, and Chapter 353 tax abatement. He has served as bond counsel for tax increment financing obligation issuances and Chapter 100 bond issuances. Mr. Droney also handles various real estate transactional matters including land acquisition and assemblage, public and private easement transfers, land and improvement leasing, lender security documentation, and other real property transactional matters.

Mr. Droney also handles a variety of administrative law matters, including appeals to the Missouri State Tax Commission, applications to the Missouri Department of Economic Development regarding State of Missouri redevelopment incentives and tax credit programs, matters before the Missouri Gaming Commission, and administrative review of zoning and land use matters.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Droney worked as an Associate County Counselor in the St. Louis County Counselor’s office.

Mr. Droney is licensed to practice law in Missouri and Illinois and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of Missouri and the Northern District of Illinois.
